How to Clean a Dry Herb Vaporizer

Dry herb vaporizer Airvape XS GO

Choosing a dry herb vaporizer can make your sessions easier and save your weed. However, it can also damage your weed, which is why a dry herb vaporizer is essential. A good dry herb vaporizer guide will show you how to use your dry herb vape properly. It will also show you how to properly clean your vape. With a good guide, you can be sure that your vaporizer will last for a long time.

What Is a Dry Herb Vaporizer?

Dry herb vaporizer Airvape X
Dry herb vaporizer Airvape X

A dry herb vape is a device that works similarly to a car lighter. The vaporizer contains a heating coil connected to the electrodes of a battery. Pressing the power button causes the coil to heat up. When the coil reaches about 300 degrees Fahrenheit, the ground material will ignite.

This is why it is important to choose the right temperature for your vaporizer. If you choose a vaporizer that has an elevated temperature, it may cause the vapor to be too hot, which can lead to a harsh taste.

If you’re new to dry herb vaporization, you should read the instruction manual before using it. A good vaporizer is a very easy-to-use device, so you should read the manual thoroughly before you start using it. Then, you can switch to a different heat setting, and use your dry herb vaporizer to enjoy the benefits of a new experience.

How to clean a dry herb vaporizer

A dry herb vaporizer’s interior is made up of parts: the battery, screen, mouthpiece, and heating chamber.

If your dry herb vaporizer is not removable, you’ll need to disassemble it to clean it properly. You’ll find the heating chamber, mouthpiece, and battery. Once you’ve removed these components, you can determine where the issue areas are. Next, you’ll need to wipe down the interior of the vaporizer. To clean the cylinder, you’ll need to disassemble the atomizer.

Tools to clean a dry herb vaporizer

You’ll need a few different tools to clean a dry herb vaporizer. The most basic of these tools are cotton swabs, isopropyl alcohol, and coarse salt. Some models may have an additional tool or cleaning kit that includes bristle pipe cleaners and other cleaning tools. A good quality vape should not be hard to maintain. It should only require routine maintenance to ensure that it is working properly.

Isopropyl alcohol

You should clean the vaporizer with a brush and isopropyl alcohol. Be sure to clean the metal parts with isopropyl alcohol. Wooden parts will become discolored with the alcohol. You can also use a soft cloth to clean the glass. A hard-bristled brush will make cleaning your vaporizer easier and more efficient. It is important to follow the manual carefully to ensure the best results.

The chamber

First, you’ll need to empty the chamber of your dry herb vaporizer. To do so, use a paper towel soaked in isopropyl alcohol and wipe it out gently. You can also use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to remove stubborn residue. You can burn off the cleaner before replacing it with a fresh swab. Then, you can re-use the swab.

Some vapes have removable air paths, but some of them do not. For these, you need to swab them with isopropyl alcohol. Let the alcohol dry, then remove the cotton tip and use a dry rag to wipe the excess away. Repeat the cleaning process as necessary but burn off the excess cleaning solution before inhaling it. Once you have completed all cleaning steps, you can then re-use your dry herb vape.

Mouthpiece, Chamber, battery…

In addition to a regular cleaning schedule, it’s also important to regularly remove the battery and herb chamber. You should clean the mouthpiece as well. This is where your mouth will be when inhaling the vapor. The mouthpiece is where the dry herb will be deposited, so it’s the last part of the device to get dirty. Aside from that, the mesh area of a weed vaporizer should be cleaned with a clean cloth to improve the flavor.

Selecting a dry herb vape for you

When selecting a dry herb vaporizer, you should pay close attention to the temperature controls. This is an important feature, as different cannabis compounds require different temperatures. It’s important to have accurate temperature controls on your vaporizer, so you can choose the best one for your needs. If you’re using it in a public place, you should be aware of potential toxicity risks. You shouldn’t use it in public areas and keep it away from children.

How to use a dry herbs vape?

Vaping dry herbs

To vape dry herbs, you need some basic instructions. Don’t be scared, it is not difficult.

To start using your dry herb vaporizer, you should place your lips over the mouthpiece. Then, inhale slowly, and make sure that the vapor is fine and not black. To avoid black ash, you should start with a low temperature and work your way up. You should eventually see a fine cloud of vapor. After that, you should add more herbs to the vaporizer to get the optimal results.

Was this advice too basic for you? Let’s get into the details, keep reading!

Step 1: Grind your herbs.

dry herbs grinder
dry herbs grinder

There are several vaporizers on the market that can evaporate entire flowers, but grinding is the most efficient method. This depends on the kind of vaporizer, but conduction vaporizers function better with finer grind, while convection devices favor the rougher grind. Try a mild grind if you’re not sure what to do.

Step 2: Pack your vape.

Fill the oven of your vaporizer with the ground herbs you’ve just harvested. Fill it to the full with conduction vaporizers and pack it down firmly. Repeat this process until you get to the top of the container.

There is no comparison between convection and hybrid vaporizers. Close-knit groups are not their thing. Place a small mound of water in the oven and gently push it down until it is level with the rim.

Step 3: Power on your vape.

Activate the device! Press the power button fast five times on most vaporizers. In certain cases, a lengthy press of the power button may be required. If you have any questions, see your vaporizer’s user handbook.

Step 4: Pick your temperature.

Low-level vaping temperatures – 370°F/187°C and below.

The tastiest vapor is produced in this temperature range, making it ideal for those who prefer taste over clouds. Flavorful, but light and airy, the hits will have a subtle but detectable impact. If you have no idea what you’re searching for, this is a good place to begin. In the future, you may always increase it.

Mid-level vaping temperatures – 370°F/187°C to 390°F/198°C.

To me, this temperature range is exactly right. The hits are much heavier, yet they still provide pleasing tastes that pack a punch. It’s an excellent choice for individuals who like a bit more kick but also a lot of flavor.

High-level vaping temperatures – 390°F/198°C and above.

Clouds come into play at this point as flavors begin to decline. The savory nuances of your initial few shots will rapidly fade away as the clouds build up. If you want large clouds and dramatic effects right out of the gate, here is the ideal spot to start.

Step 5: Inhale your vaporized herbs.

When the temperature on your vaporizer reaches the level you prefer, it’s time to vape! Inhale for seven to ten seconds, and then exhale for the same length of time. As your session progresses, the taste and potency of your initial few puffs will gradually increase.

Step 6: Power off & clean your vape

You should switch off your vaporizer in the same manner you turned it on after you’re done with your session. You’re fine to go if you’re putting the remainder away for later. You may come back to it later if you want to.

While the oven is still hot, use a cleaning brush to scrub out the insides if your herbs are done. This will protect the load from adhering to the oven and extend the life of your e-cigarette.

Final top tips for first time vapers

You should be aware of the locations where you may and cannot vape

You may question whether vaporizers are subject to the same restrictions as cigarettes. For the most part, you can’t vape if you can’t smoke. If you’re still hesitant, you can always ask around or simply go outdoors and take in the scenery.

Your experience will be influenced by the quality of the herbs you use.

There’s more to it than just using vape pens and vaporizers. The finest overall vaping experience may be achieved by using high-quality, precisely collected plant material. In order to preserve the freshness of your herbs, keep them in a dark, cold place.

Try it out! Enjoy!

Your unique vaping rituals will evolve over time as you get more familiar with the process. In order to perfect your vaporizing technique, don’t be hesitant to experiment with a variety of various vapes, grinds, packs, and temperatures.

As long as you know what you’re doing and take the time to educate yourself, vaporizing dried herbs is completely safe. So don’t worry and vape on!

A Dry Herb Vaporizer

dry herb atomizer

With a dry herb atomizer and a good dry herb vaporizer mod, you too can develop a good quality dry herb vaporizer unit for yourself.

What is a dry herb vaporizer?

A dry herbs vaporizer device (also known as dry herb vaporizers or dry weed vaporizers) are simple devices which you place on your mod. It is composed of a heating element, a chamber (sometimes called a coil or wick), and the herb (usually dried or prepared).

“Vaporizers work without combustion by heating and evaporating cannabinoids and terpenes in cannabis.
And dry herbal vaporizer is, as the name suggests, intended only to spray unprocessed flowers and other plants.
“Stock” vaporizers are typically intended for concentrate vaporization such as wax, break, crumble, or CO2 extracts.”
dry herb atomizer

Most dry herb vaporizers work by heating the herb itself, which is held in a separate chamber from the heating element.

When the heating element heats up the herb, it forces a stream of air through the chamber, vaporizing the herb and allowing it to travel through the airflow to disperse over a large area of the body.

You’ll have to experiment with your dry herbs vaporizer unit to find the temperature range that works best for you. It’s important to note that there are many different types of herbal dry herb vaporizers. These days, the majority of models contain a chamber with a wick. Some may even use a fan to speed up the process.

When using dry herb vaporizer units for smoking, be sure not to go too far above the recommended level.

It is best to start out slow in your experiments, and then once you have an idea about how many puffs to do, you can increase the intensity of the heat gradually until you have an adequate amount of dried herbs in the chamber.

Before you go out and purchase your dry herb vaporizer unit, it is important to read about all the features of the model that you are considering purchasing. Find out if the model offers what you are looking for in terms of size, power, output, and other features.

Do not skimp on these aspects; they will make a huge difference in how much you enjoy your dry herbs vaporizer experience.

If you take your time and learn as much as possible before you purchase a dry herb vaporizer device, you’ll end up with an excellent choice. You will end up having a much better experience from using your new dry herb vaporizer than you would if you did not use one at all!

If you are interested in buying a dry herb vaporizer unit, don’t forget to check out the options available to you.

If you know the various models that are out there, you should be able to easily narrow down your options based on price, features, quality, and size. The Internet is a great way to get an idea of what models are out there and the cost that is associated with them.

Don’t underestimate the benefits of dry herb vaporizer models, especially if you are someone who wants to try to quit smoking by using dried herbs. !

How to Vape Weed?

covid and vaping

How to vape weed is something that a lot of people are asking. This is because it seems like the trend in the pot world is to smoke it and not to use electronic means of consumption.

Some people are taking this to desktop vaporizers, but that’s not quite the same thing. The most common thing is to refer to the method of smoking pot and then vaping it as “portable vaporizers”. AKA vape pen

Smoking is an easier option for some people. Most people who want to vape marijuana don’t want to be exposed to smoke or do anything else that would be damaging to their lungs. They also don’t want to deal with all the chemicals and toxins that come from smoking pot.

One of the reasons people like to use vaporizers is because they are portable.

They are also easy to use and don’t require you to exert a lot of effort to have a good time. You can always get out a joint or an ashtray if you don’t feel like puffing on the plant itself.

Although most vaporizers use wax to hold the marijuana in place, some have replaceable cartridges that allow you to use your own flavoring. This makes using the vaporizer convenient for those who like to experiment with the different tastes that are available.

Another great thing about them is that you don’t have to take any precautions about what you’re putting in them. Your stomach won’t feel anything because you aren’t putting anything in it.

There are vaporizers that will produce a lot of smoke, but the less smoke there is, the better. The smoke from these products will still taste great though, so you can still have smoke without inhaling it.

One more thing that makes Vapes pen work is the fact that it allows you to keep your hands off your face. This might sound weird, but it’s true.

Vaporizers will automatically release the smoke in your lungs.

This prevents the effects of the chemicals from staying in your body.

Vaporizers also offer another benefit that keeps smokers from coughing too much. The concentration of the chemicals in the plant is so great that you are likely to start coughing up these chemicals, so by using a vaporizer, your lungs are not as exposed to them.

The great thing about Vape pens is that you don’t have to put any work into it at all. It’s easy and convenient and you can make sure that you’re not exposing yourself to harmful chemicals while still getting the best taste possible.

Volcano Digital Vaporizer

Volcano Digital Vaporizer

Review
At nearly twice the cost of other weed vaporizers on the market, the Volcano Vaporizer does offer many qualities that justify its price IF you are only interested in bag or balloon-style vaporizing. As far as balloon vaporizers go, it is the best of its kind and makes the balloon process as easy as 1-2-3 with efficient vapor being produced each and every time. The Volcano Vaporizer’s greatest asset are high-tech balloons (often called “bags”), precise temperature control, and convenience.

If you are smoking most often in a group setting, this is the best vaporizer you could ask for. The vaporization process is idiot-proof, plus the balloon just pops off and can be passed around so that everyone can enjoy a nice, thick hit from the bag. If you are smoking by yourself, you can also use this vaporizer by simply adding less weed to your filling chamber, which will result in less dense vape and therefore less waste.

We definitely recommend the Digital Volcano over the Classic Volcano as it allows for precise temperature control and also offers 30 minute shut-off, as well as a built-in air filtration system.

Usage
The Volcano’s vaporizing process is simple. You press a button to start the heating process at your determined temperature, which is clearly displayed on the system’s LED screen. This takes about 3-5 minutes. Add your pre-ground pot to the removable filling chamber, screw on its cap (which is also a valve), then place the filling chamber on the exhaust vent of the Volcano. Preheat the weed for five or so seconds then press a button labeled “Air” to turn on the unit’s fan. Hold the balloon or bag vertically and put it on the valve of the filling chamber until it locks into place. Once locked on, the balloon will inflate. Inflate until you feel the vapor in the bag is dense enough. With the Volcano, you can always get a nice, opaque balloon that is densely filled. Once filled, detach it from the machine and attach the mouthpiece. Long story short, you just heat the machine up, pop on the chamber and bag, inflate, and then inhale.

The Volcano’s Easy Valve Mouthpiece is very convenient as it automatically closes after you are done drawing so no vapor is wasted. To use, just pull a little with your lips. Upon release, the balloon’s valve just closes right up, keeping your precious vapor in the bag.

Tips & Tricks
About the vaporizer’s bags and balloons: Storz & Bickel recommends replacing them after 50-100 uses. You get a roll of material approximately 3 meters in length that you then cut into 5-6 balloons (also called “bags”). You can also use heat-proof oven hoses or oven bags; do not use plastic bags or cling wraps. The balloons and vape bags are great for group usage or if you want to have vaporized weed handy while sitting around for a half hour by yourself getting high. That being said, we find that if you leave the vapor in the balloons for two long, even a few hours and especially over time, the bags get sticky and smell funny, almost rank. We also believe that the potency of the vapor decreases over time, although many people claim that it does not. Again, this is just our personal experience.

Easy Valve versus Solid Valve: You throw the Easy Valve and balloon away after 150 uses, so you avoid cleaning issues but spend more money (a replacement set costs about $60). With the Solid Valve, you simply replace the balloon after 150 uses and clean the stainless steel valve (a balloon costs about $6).

Closing Recommendation
So why spend $669.00 on the Volcano Digital? You want something easy and convenient, and you tend to smoke in groups where the balloons and bags are super fun to pass around. The Volcano Digital is extremely well-designed and a good introduction to vaporizing, but most vape users tend to migrate to the whip vaporizers in the end, such as the Extreme Q.

Vaporizer Features

Easy Valve Filling Chamber
5 Easy Valve Balloons/Bags
5 Easy Valve Mouthpieces
Valve Normal Screen Set

Vaporizer Health Benefits
Vaporization releases the active elements of marijuana, THC, without any burning. A technology that has been evolving for well over two decades, today’s vaporizers use convection technology to release just enough heat and air to release the vital chemicals of weed. Unlike using a lighter to smoke marijuana, which creates combustion at a temperature of approximately 2000 degrees F, vaporization does not change the chemical structure of marijuana, and the smoker does not inhale tar and other toxic elements caused by the combustion process.

Marijuana contains cannabinoids, particularly THC, which is what gets you high. When heated to a threshold temperature of approximately 375 degrees F, the cannabinoids detach from the plant and vaporize into a thin mist that the user can safely inhale. This mist is not smoke and will taste cleaner, cooler, and smoother than any kind of combustion-made smoke. In addition, twice as many active constituents are delivered to the user by using vaporization due to the delicate nature of cannabinoids and their tendency to be easily destroyed at temperatures over 400 degrees F. Because there is no smoke, there is little to no smell, and many people can vaporize in public without being detected.

Also, because you can hit the same “bowl” of weed several times, your marijuana will last longer and provide more hits per gram. Both your lungs and your wallet win when using a vaporizer!

Portable Vaporizers vs. Home Vaporizers

If you plan on using a vaporizer every day, we would recommend getting a home vaporizer such as the Extreme Q or VaporBrothers Vaporizer. These plug-in style vaporizers are more expensive to purchase, but will pay off big time when it comes to the amount of vapor you produce per gram of pot. Stylish and designed with safety in mind, a home vaporizer will provide years of usage with less necessary cleaning than a portable vaporizer. If you are hesitant to purchase a vaporizer over $200, rest assured that you truly do get what you pay for in the vaporizer industry.

If you have a home vaporizer and simply love vaporizing weed, you may want to invest in a portable vaporizer to have with you when you leave the house. Portable vaporizers are great for limited use and for smoking pot in public without fear. We use our portable vaporizer as a convenient accessory to our regular vaporizer at home. You can certainly invest in a portable vaporizer as your daily vaporizer, but you will quickly discover that you will need to charge a portable vape’s batteries and need to clean its screens more frequently, as well as experiencing a slight burn in your throat when smoking due to most portable vaporizer’s short straw.

Our Advice: Buy both style vaporizers. If your vaporizer budget will only allow for one purchase at this time, get a home vaporizer and start there for the optimal vaporizer experience. Once you are hooked like us, you can invest in a portable vaporizer for your traveling needs.

Whip Vaporizers vs. Balloon Vaporizers
Most vaporizer users have a strong preference when it comes to this topic. There are advantages to each style of vaporization, and your preference will largely depend on your lifestyle.

Whip Vaporizers: For the individual smoker or for a couple, whip vaporizers are going to give you more control over how much weed you smoke per session, as well as eliminating the waste that you may encounter by filling a balloon too much then getting too high to finish it. With a whip vaporizer, you simply draw as many hits as you would like then remove the bowl for later re-smoking. Whip vaporizers often come with two “whips,” which are food-grade, malleable plastic tubes through which the user draws a hit, so if you are worried about germs, there are options for you.

Balloon & Bag Vaporizers: If you do most of your toking in a group, balloons (or bags, as they are often called) are fun to use and ensure that each smoker will get a great hit. Nothing could be more fun to have at a party than a vapor-filled bag that you can pass around, especially when it is filled with clean, delicious vapor! The Volcano is really the clear choice if you want to get a balloon-style vaporizer. The Extreme Q does offer a balloon option, but we find it hard to use and not practical. The Digital Volcano Vaporizer, however, makes filling balloons and bags incredibly easy.

Extreme Q Vaporizer
Multi-functional with both whip and balloon usage
Reliable, effective, low maintenance Great value and mid-range price
Tricky to use as a balloon vaporizer
Lots of marketing scams happening: do not buy an older model or just the tower

Review
The best vaporizer of 2016 in our opinion is Extreme Q Vaporizer, which is manufactured from Arizer, a Canadian company with a great track record. It is the vaporizer of choice if you want precise control over temperature and weed conservation. When used correctly, the Extreme Q produces excellent quality vapor again and again from the same bowl. We appreciate its finely tuned, silent mechanics and sleek, modern design…plus it gets you extremely high. The glass and whip tubing are of the finest food grade quality, and you really do get the best vaporizer for the money in this case.

By drawing slowly from the whip, we can get 10-12 hits per bowl. The Extreme Q really goes the distance when it comes to getting the maximum usage out of your pot. It is reliable and also inconspicuous. Set out by your computer, it looks like just some sort of electronic accessory.

Be careful when purchasing this vaporizer, however. It has come down in price in the last year (it used to cost $300), but there are even cheaper Extreme Qs being sold that are older models of the unit. Also, be sure that you do not just buy the tower. You’ll need all of the accessories.

Usage
After much experimentation, we finally figured out that if you heat up the vaporizer to 392 degrees F, and then put the *empty* Cyclone Bowl (the glass heating chamber into which you insert your herb) on the unit’s female piece, you will get the most effective and fast vaporization. So, from the beginning, turn on the unit and let it heat up to 392. The Extreme Q’s user-friendly LED indicator screen shows you the temperature as it heats. Once the desired temperature is reached, put the empty Cyclone Bowl on the Cyclone receptacle for five to seven minutes until it is hot to the touch. Pro tip: use the remote to put the fan on the lowest setting and heat the Cyclone bowl even faster, then turn it off once the Extreme Q temperature reaches 392 F.

Once heated, use a small spoon or knife to fill the Cyclone Bowl with a teaspoon of finely ground pot. You’ll quickly discover that too little weed does not provide adequate vaporization while too much weed (ie. stuffing the Cyclone Bowl completely full) is unnecessary. Slowly inhale through the tube. We find that the slower you inhale, the more vaporizer fumes you will successfully intake. Once finished with your toke, you can leave the Cyclone Bowl on the Extreme Q for about 30 seconds to one minute without risking unnecessary heat damage to the bud.

If you are finished smoking, turn off the Extreme Q and remove the glass Cyclone Bowl for revisiting later. Yes, you can reheat and smoke weed that has been already vaporized! If you do plan to reuse a previously toked bowl, do not worry about heating the Cyclone Bowl first as described above. Instead, heat up the Extreme Q tower to 392 then place the weed-filled Cyclone Bowl onto its receptacle while you clean out the top screen with the glass poker. Put the Cyclone Bowl on and let it warm up for 30-60 seconds before beginning to inhale. You’ll see wisps of smoke forming in the bowl and the L-shaped whip piece. Draw up and down slowly so that you can see the tiny pot pieces gently rising up and down. This way, you get the most heat distribution over each tiny piece of pot.

Another nice function of smoking with the 360 degree swivel whip is that allows you to draw air while moving the whip around the Extreme Q tower without restriction.

Tips & Tricks
About screens: each Extreme Q comes with a flat, circular screen that rests on the middle of the Cyclone Bowl. It is a traditional sized screen that you can find at most head shops. The mouthpiece screen, however, is shaped like a small bowl and needs to cleaned about once a month if you are using the vaporizer daily. You can use the glass tool to scrape the filter clean, but every couple weeks you should just submerge it in rubbing alcohol for a half an hour then rinse and dry. Get ready for big tokes!

Another thing about the Cyclone screen: if you draw too hard or quickly, it can flip over within the Cyclone bowl. If this happens, just tamp the screen back into place and be sure to draw less powerfully in the future. A long, slow draw makes the machine operates best on numerous levels.

As with all vaporizers, use a grinder to grind your pot into fine particulates. This will allow maximum surface area from which to extra THC. Stir the Cyclone bowl after every 5th hit or between sessions.

About filling balloons: we have to be honest and say that we don’t ever use the Extreme Q for balloons. The best vaporizer for balloons is the Volcano, hands down. We tried using the Extreme Q for balloons, but found it to be a bit labor-intensive. The Extreme Q kicks ass when it comes to whip vaporizers and is the best whip vaporizer on the market, and really, that is enough for us.

Here is what we can tell you about Extreme Q balloons: use the Cyclone Bowl piece and the glass elbow adapter, which connects to the mouth of the balloon. Set the fan speed to determine how quickly you want the balloon filled. Try the highest fan setting, which will fill your balloon in approximately a minute. The hardest part of using the Extreme Q for balloon vaping is getting the balloon attached to the whip. The bag attachment piece comes with two tiny rubber bands, but we just use a thick, grocery store band to attach our balloons if we ever use them, which is rarely with this machine.

Closing Recommendation
So why buy the Arizer Extreme Q? It is very easy to use, requires little cleaning, and consistently smokes cool and fresh. Each draw from the whip produces the sweetest, greenest vapor you can imagine. The Extreme Q is a great vaporizer for the price, especially if you are an individual user and not ready to drop big bucks on a vaporizer like the Volcano. However, if you are looking for vaporizer more optimized for balloon usage, the Volcano may be a better choice for you.

If you really want to maximize your vaporization while also conserving your weed, whip-style vaporization is the way to go. We love our Da Buddha for it’s ease of use, extra-long whip, ceramic heating unit, and the sweet, sweet vapor that it produces.

The Da Buddha is different from other whip-style vaporizers on the market in two notable ways: it is hands-free (meaning you don’t have to hold the bowl to the heating element) and the unit does not have precise temperature controls. Many vaping purists will tell you that precise temperature control is a must, but it is ultimately up to the user to determine an acceptable temperature no matter if the machine handles temperature adjustment digitally or manually. Our favorite setting is at the 1 o’clock position on the dial. We also use an Extreme Q and see nearly identical vaporizing at this level with the Da Buddha. Our Extreme Q is set at 374 degrees Fahrenheit, which is considered to be the ideal.

The Da Buddha is easy to set up right out of the box. It has a wide, beautiful whip that allows the user to easily see how much vapor is being inhaled, with the extra benefit of cooling the vapor as it travels. No harsh hits with this vape! The Da Buddha Vaporizer also uses a state-of-the-art, ceramic heater that heats up in about two minutes. Why is this heater so important? Other vaporizers in this price range use electronic heaters, which can taint the flavor of the vapor with a plastic or metallic taste, as well as putting questionable fumes into the vapor before it hits your lungs.

The design of the Da Buddha is simple and clean. If you detach the wand and whip, then turn the vaporizer to its side, it looks like a vase, which can be handy if you have non-toking guests over.

We are also into keeping our vaporizers clean in order to achieve best flavor and potency, and the Da Buddha is easy to clean. Its “Easy Change Wand” detaches easily and can be soaked in rubbing alcohol.

Usage
When first setting up, take the glass mouthpiece and glass wand from pockets from within the padded bag. You’ll need to insert the rubber tubing into the wand; you can make this process much easier by simply dipping the rubber tubing into water before you begin inserting it. The mouthpiece goes into the other end of the tubing and is easy to insert (and remove for later cleaning). Get a chopstick and tamp a fresh screen down into the bowl end of the wand.

For the first use, turn the machine on max heat for five minutes, allow to cool completely, then heat on max again for five minutes. This is just to burn off any manufacturing oils.

For everyday use, turn the unit on to the 1 o’clock position and wait 2-3 minutes for it to heat up. Take your finely ground herb and put a small amount into the bowl (about 1/8th to 1/4th of the bowl), then gently push it down with a chopstick or stir stick. You do not want loose herb touching the heating element! Once the bowl is loaded, gently twist it onto the heating element. Wait about 30 seconds for the weed to be slightly heated, then proceed to draw long, slow tokes – the longer, the better. You should see the vapor flowing through the whip at a steady rate as you inhale. Hold the vapor deep in your lungs for, well, as long as you can.

Tips & Tricks
Don’t blow the vapor back in while toking! This is a draw-only vaporizer. If you inhale and exhale the vapor through the whip, you can blow pieces of pot onto the heating unit and even cause a little combustion.

On the subject of pot pieces hitting the heating unit, another smart tip is to angle your screen just slightly so that the weed does not face the heating unit at a straight-on angle. If you don’t overfill your bowl, however, you should not have to worry about weed pieces hitting the heating element. It has never happened to us.

Between hits or vaping sessions, you can easily stir your weed to increase maximum surface area and the efficiency of the vaporization.

Once finished vaporizing, disconnect the wand from the heating unit and blow through the mouthpiece to get the weed out easier. Remember, though, that you can often re-vape previously vaped weed. A good trick is to vape already vaped weed at a higher temperature.

Closing Recommendation
Da Buddha Vaporizer is a well-made, whip-style vaporizer that rivals other vaporizers on the market for potency and flavor for under $200. It’s easy to use and most importantly, produces excellent vapor! We love the Da Buddha’s ceramic heating unit and simple design. This unit will be appreciated by both novices and long-term vaporizing fans who do not need fancy LED lights or fan control.

WISPR Portable Vaporizer

proNo batteries required
Modern design that does not look like paraphernalia
Up to two hours of continuous vaporization
Short whip can cause hot hits
No temperature control

Review
The WISPR is manufactured by Oglesby & Butler Ltd, who have 25 years in butane-powered machine manufacture, in conjunction with a couple world-famous San Francisco design firms.

We prefer the WHISPR over the Iolite for several reasons. For one, it produces thicker, tastier vapor! Not only is the design improved over the Iolite, but yes, the WHISPR creates more vapor and uses less herb! It’s easier to use and heats up faster, plus it looks super cool. You can even have this little dandy sitting out when you have guests over and they will have no idea what the device is because of its lovely, modern design. The flexible, silicone mouthpiece tucks perfectly into the unit when not in use.

The WISPR Vaporizer combines the best features of the Iolite and adds improvements such a fuel gauge that tells you how much remaining fuel you have left in the unit. The device is factory-set at 374 degrees F, which many consider to be the most desired temperature for vaporization; for newcomers to vaporizing, having the temperature preset also takes the guesswork out of vaporization, though more experienced vaporizers might protest. Once activated, the WISPR automatically heats then reheats on it’s own once you have started the process, which is very convenient.

The WISPR is designed with a patented flameless gas catalytic heater with thermostat, so your pot is guaranteed to never burn. This stylish portable vaporizer only weighs 4.5 oz. and can easily fit in your backpack, glove box, purse, etc. We have taken this vaporizer into concerts and parks even without fear. Most people think it is a juice box with a straw, especially since we use the orange unit.

We were originally opposed to butane pieces like the Iolite because of the difficulty in filling the device and the occasional aftertaste of butane while vaping. However, the WISPR Vaporizer has changed our minds. You fill the WISPR with Vector Butane, which costs about $6 a can and lasts months. One fill of butane can easily last all day with many vaporizing sessions.

Other minor drawbacks include a lessened heating ability at higher altitudes, so this might be a concern if you plan on taking this device to the mountain. The WISPR’s straw is short and this can produce throat-burning effects if you toke too hard, but this problem is easily solved by drawing slowly. Only other gripe might be having to fill the WISPR daily with butane, but it is a small price to pay for such excellent quality vapor on-the-go.

Usage
The WISPR Vaporizer is easy to use since the heating unit is preset. All you do is take a butane can and turn it upside down to insert its male piece into the WISPR’s female piece. You can tell when the WISPR is full by looking at the fuel gauge. Next, take the straw out and mash the bowl into your finely ground herb; tamp it in there with your thumb. Put the straw back into the WISPR.

Turn the WISPR on by pressing down on the side button with your thumb to the first click. You’ll hear a hiss to indicate that the gas is flowing. Press down again all the way to the bottom to light the unit. Once lit, a little light on the side of the unit will illuminate. When the light turns off, the unit has reached ideal temperature of 190 degrees Celsius or 374 degrees Fahrenheit.

If using fresh pot, we recommend waiting three minutes to get the unit really heated and ready for maximum vaporizing. If re-heating previously vaporized weed, we wait an extra minute or so to get the bowl a little warmer. Be sure to use finely ground herb and you will get rich, thick hits with good flavor. When finished, push the switch upwards until it clicks. The heater is now off.

Tips & Tricks
Stock up on butane, especially if this is your only vaporizer. It’s also a good idea to clean the screen once every two weeks with rubbing alcohol. Just pop the screen out and soak it in alcohol for 30-60 minutes, then rinse with cold water and allow it to air dry.

If you don’t have a lot of herb, a really great trick is to use the straw to suck up the herb pieces into the bowl before you insert the bowl into the WISPR unit.

Closing Recommendation
This is an ideal portable vaporizer that is a breeze to use once you figure out the butane filling process. The WISPR is stylish, reliable, and produces sweet, strong hits of vapor in the wind or in any setting. More mechanized than the Magic Flight, the WISPR provides longer vaporizing potential over battery-operated models, as well as getting more hits off of the same amount of pot.

Arizer Solo Portable Vaporizer
proTotal temperature control
Produces most vapor of any portable vaporizer
Easy-to-clean pieces
Mouthpiece needs screens to work properly
Bowl size is a bit small for group sessions

Review
The Arizer Solo blows all other portable vapes out of the water when it comes to quality construction, ease of use, and total amount of vapor produced. If you’ve even used a Magic Flight Launch Box before, you’ll only need to use the Arizer Solo once to know you are in a whole different league of vaping.

The Solo Portable Vaporizer is manufactured using only the highest quality components and materials, and this makes a difference in amount and quality of vapor. Instead of plastic or vinyl tubing, the Arizer Solo’s mouthpiece is made from borosilicate glass so that the user can really taste the vapor; glass is also much easier to clean. The Arizer Solo uses a ceramic heating element, which heats up fast and is also the healthiest, non-toxic kind of heating element a vaporizer can have (which is important considering you are inhaling directly into your lungs).

Best yet, the Arizer Solo Vaporizer offers maximum extraction of your weed. Like its big brother the Extreme Q, you can take a couple of hits of vape, turn the machine off, then come back and hit it again. We’ve noticed that we use a lot less weed using the Solo as our portable vape.

Temperature control also differentiates this portable vaporizer from anything else on the market. These are the seven temperature settings for the Arizer Solo:

1 = 50°C / 122°F
2 = 185°C / 365°F
3 = 190°C / 374°F
4 = 195°C / 383°F
5 = 200°C / 393°F
6 = 205°C / 401°F
7 = 210°C / 410°F

Though the ideal temperature is setting 3 at 374° F, it’s nice to be able to kick the temp up a notch or two if you are re-vaping old weed or want the most potent, hardest hitting vapor in a hurry without concern for conserving.

The Arizer Solo uses a rechargeable lithium ion battery that allows for 6 to 8 heating sessions before needing to be recharged. The batteries are charged using a unit that plugs into the wall: it’s a piece of cake. Charging takes about 2 hours, though the unit is cleverly designed with LEDs to show power level while charging.

Usage
To use, simple turn the machine on by simultaneously pressing the silver up and down arrow buttons. The Arizer Solo will beep and go into standby mode, which means it is automatically heating to the first level. Choose your desired temperature level by using the arrow button. We recommend Level 3. The unit heats up in about two minutes, but requires more time for higher temperature settings. The top orange light on the unit will stop blinking when the desired temperature is reached.

Fill the bowl part of the glass mouthpiece with herb ground up using a grinder. We recommend using a screen in the bowl to prevent tiny pieces of herb from being inhaled. Once filled, flip the unit upside down and pop the bowl into the unit. Wait about 30 seconds for the herb to be heated inside the chamber, then draw from the mouthpiece using slow, steady inhales. You’ll see the vapor pass through the glass. Be sure to hold the vapor in your lungs for a good ten seconds for maximum highness.

You should turn the Arizer Solo off after use, but if you forget, it has a battery saving automatic shut-off feature after 12 minutes of non-use. Pretty nifty.

Tips & Tricks
Screens: buy a few when buying this vaporizer. Even though the mouthpiece is intended to function without screens, you’ll get the best vapor if you grind your weed and put it into the bowl with a screen. The screen keeps small pieces from being sucked into your throat as you inhale (clearly undesirable). It’s easy to clean the screens; every couple weeks you should just submerge your screen in rubbing alcohol for a half an hour then rinse with water and dry. Voila!

You can also soak the glass mouthpiece in rubbing alcohol, as needed. Cleaning the screens and the glass will keep your vapor tasty and fresh. Another plus of the Arizer Solo is design of the heating chamber in the unit. Because nothing gets burned or left behind, you can just blow into the chamber and it is clean.

The Arizer Solo does have a strong electronic smell when you first heat it up out of the box. We recommend running it through a series of cycles by heating it to the maximum level for five minutes and then letting it cool off completely, then repeating.

Closing Recommendation
We have always recommended that serious tokers have a whip-style vaporizer for home, everyday usage and a portable vape as a back-up, but the Arizer Solo can indeed be your only vaporizer because it’s just that good. From its solid aluminum design to its easy-to-clean parts, this thoughtfully designed machine produces just as much vapor as any non-portable vaporizer. It might seem expensive, but you’ll get your money back tenfold when you consider this device’s excellent weed extraction per vapor produced.

Review
If you want a portable vaporizer that is simple to use and super discreet, the Magic Flight Launch Box is the best vaporizer for the money. At 2.5” x 1.25” x .9”, the Magic Flight delivers clean vapor, heats up fast, and functions discreetly in public areas. We love its wood aesthetic and simple design, which produces quality hits of pure vapor time after time. The Magic Flight is our go-to portable vaporizer when wanting to smoke at concerts, restaurants, or any public place.

The Magic Flight is pre-set to 380 degrees F so there is no guesswork involved in determining settings for maximum efficiency. It also comes with a lifetime warranty, which is rare for portable vaporizers because many are prone to damage or being dropped. Because of its simple construction, the Magic Flight is very durable. The Launch Box is made of birch hardwood and uses copper plated steel rods for fast, healthy, and safe heat conduction. We’ve dropped ours several times with no breakage at all. The clear top cover is acrylic, not glass, so there is no need to worry about that piece of the vaporizer breaking if you should get too blazingly high and drop the Magic Flight.

You can see and control the intensity of the vaporization by looking through the acrylic top, which allows for total control over how much weed you use. No two ways about it, you will use less weed and get a lot higher by using the Magic Flight instead of a one hitter or bowl. The Magic Flight is a great starter vaporizer, a great vaporizer for individual daily use, and the best portable vaporizer that fits neatly into your pocket.

If do you plan on making this your only vaporizer, do yourself a favor and buy an extra set of batteries. They are nice to have around if you are on the road or a bit lazy about recharging. Each battery gives you approximately five minutes of vaporization, but the Magic Flight’s super fast heat-up time ensures that each vaporizing session is short.

Usage
To use, you simply slide back the acrylic top and load your pre-ground weed, then pop in a battery and wait about ten seconds. The weed is heated using a copper plated rod that heats the entire screen where you placed your pot. A little light will glow orange (see pic, right) when the Magic Flight has reached the ideal temperature. Draw in slowly through the acrylic straw for the best hit of vapor.

Unlike other more mechanical vaporizers like the Iolite, the Magic Flight Vaporizer allows you to have some manual control over its vapor production by using your breath. If you draw too quickly, you will not only get a hit that is a bit too hot, but you will also cool down the weed chamber too quickly. Like vaporizers that use a whip, you’ll get your best hit by drawing slow and long. Keeping the weed at a consistent temp between hits will also help maintain its potency over several vaporizing sessions.

Tips & Tricks
While this vaporizer may not produce the huge hits you are used to getting off of home vaporizers or balloon vaporizers, the Magic Flight will give you 4-5 nice, vapor-rich hits from one bowl, especially if you allow the last few hits to heat up longer. We like to fill each Magic Flight chamber about half way full as we enjoy fresh, clean hits. Another plus is that you can simply shake the Magic Flight to get more surface area vaporization between sessions (as opposed to opening it up and stirring).

About cleaning: you can clean the removable acrylic mouthpiece with rubbing alcohol, but do not use anything except soap and water on the wood material. Since the vaporization process does not produce resin, we have never had to clean our Magic Flight at all and it still produces nice, clean hits after a year’s worth of ownership.

Closing Recommendation
Fully functional and extremely discreet, this is our go-to choice of portable vaporizer when going out in public to smoke herb. The Magic Flight is absolutely silent, comes with a lifetime warranty, and is relatively cheap compared to other vaporizers. It works, works well, and will last you a long time. Unlike one hitters and tiny glass bowls, the Magic Flight gets you super high without lighters, complicated devices, mess, and smoke or smell. We highly recommend it!

Arizer Solo Review

Arizer Solo Review

Arizer Solo Vaporizer

is a very well respected name in Vaporizing. The Arizer Extreme Q is one of the best desktop dual-delivery vaporizers out there. In mid-2011, Arizer launched their portable unit, the Arizer Solo Vaporizer. This vaporizer was built to compete in the high-end portable vaporizer market. Today we will review the Arizer Solo Vaporizer.

First, let us see what comes in the package. Arizer products do not come in retail packaging; they come in plain brown boxes and are labelled as Hot Air generators, or pot-pourri warmers. This is a definite plus if shipping cross-border as any customs agent will assume this is a $25 device for your granny and let it pass through without any issue.

In the box, you will find:

The Arizer Solo unit. The unit is about the size of a Red Bull can. Diameter 1.75″ Height 4.5″.
A/C Power Adapter for recharging.
Pot Pourri warming dish
2 Glass Diffusing Stems
User Instruction Manual
Sample packet of Pot-pourri.
The unit itself is very well built. The first thing we noticed is how heavy the unit was. The unit comes with a built-in, lithium-ion rechargeable battery, but the unit itself is made of some kind of metal alloy and feels very sturdy and strong. These units get hot so I feel better that this unit is not made of plastic, which can melt. I was very impressed by the weight of the unit, yet it was not too heavy as to make it awkward.

The unit is meant to be a portable unit. This vape cannot be used while plugged in. This is different from earlier electric portable units such as the Vapir No2. The difference between the Arizer Solo and the Vapir No2 is battery life. The Vapir No2 runs out of battery charge in about 1 hour while the Arizer Solo can run 4 hours on a single charge. Heat up time was an impressive one and a half minute, which is impressive for any unit, electric or butane.

The Arizer Solo is not a true digital unit as it does not have temperature reading. However, it has 7 levels and each of them represents 5 degree steps in Celsius. We tested with our laser thermometer and found that the temperatures were right on and, the heat retention was also good. You will not waste any material using the Arizer Solo. The Arizer solo also handles oils and concentrates really well, this is one edge that the Solo has over other portable units.

Now in terms of usage and quality there is good news and bad news. The good news is the Solo uses a glass stem system to produce glass on glass heating. This produces the absolute best tasting and best quality vapor you can get out of any portable. The bad news is that it uses glass. A portable vaporizer is supposed to be convenient and easy to use on the go. Fiddling with a glass wand/stem can be a little tricky when you’re on the move. Glass is always tricky when it comes to vaporizers. My very first vaporizer had a rubber tube with a glass mouthpiece. It took me all of 2 hours after unpacking the unit to break the mouthpiece! Arizer cuts you a bit of slack as you get 2 stems with your unit, and replacement stems are readily available from your favorite vaporizer store.

The best way to overcome the glass issue is to purchase a case for your Arizer Solo. Some dealers sell a hard case with cut out foam inserts so all your Arizer Solo parts fit nicely in place. You can find these cases reasonably priced at Vaporizer Store.

Earlier versions of the Arizer Solo used a ceramic heating element. Some users reported problems with the ceramic units and they have since changed to a stainless steel heating chamber. If you are purchasing and you want to ensure you are getting the current model, make sure the batch number is M105 or greater.

So, after weighing all the factors, we give the Arizer Solo 4 1/2 stars. While we applaud Arizer for using a glass design, which resulted in the absolute best and most efficient vapor, we still found it to be a little clumsy. However, as with everything, the more you use it the better you get with it. After spending 2 weeks using the unit, we found the glass stem system to work out just fine especially when stored neatly in the travel case when not in use. The battery time was sufficient that it doesn’t need to be recharged twice in the same evening.

Now in comparison to the Iolite Wispr, it’s all of a sudden hard to say. Both units are good quality. The Arizer SOLO has a slight edge on taste, while the Iolite Wispr has a slight edge on portability. In terms of length of usage, the Iolite Wispr has a slight advantage, in that you can carry a small canister of butane in your pocket, whereas you have to charge the Arizer Solo if the battery runs out.

The other issue with Arizer is warranty. Arizer takes a very serious stand on underselling. The Arizer Solo should be sold at $239.99 Canadian or $229 US. Authorized Arizer dealers will sell the unit at these correct prices. If you find the unit at a lower price than this then there is a serious catch. Units sold at the lower price are not eligible for warranty service. In order to qualify for warranty you must submit your receipt whether it be through credit card, or Paypal, the receipt will show the price you paid. Dealers trying to make a quick buck will sell the unit for $199.99 and if the unit breaks, you are on your own. Make sure you purchase from an authorized dealer, like Vaporizer Store or NFusion California Vaporizers.
